Drouyn

Featured below: Dandy kit belonging to the Andersen family. This kit belonged to their father Terry, who played drums around the Proserpine area in Queensland, from the late 50’s to late 80’s. Chris is having the kit reconditioned, to keep in the family.  This kit was purchased  by Terry from Drouyn & Drouyn in July 1956. It features an Excell 524 snare drum and an 18″ floor tom. The small splash is a La Page, from the USA. A Dandy kit with everything intact is quite rare. Thanks Chris.

Dandy and Drouyn were the cornerstone of Australia’s drum making. The factory at Stones Corner in Brisbane is now a memory; but the drums they produced are an enduring part of Australia’s musical history. Click on the images below for more information.
